JociNeil eLife 2017Neil and his collaborators have published this month on eLIfe their latest findings in using a male-harming mitochondrial haplotype in fruit flies. Part of the Trojan female technique, the use of haplotypes that are detrimental to males but not females is being tested in its efficiency and feasibility to control pest organisms. The latest results show that a male fertility-impairing haplotype was effective at achieving numerical polulation supression Drosophila.
